Voice Coaching

Singing Lessons are tailored to you and your voice! We draw on our experience and training to provide the right advice and routines for you to take on. You may be learning from scratch, aiming to develop your voice or maintain the health and safety of your voice. Tell us what you're looking for and we will know what direction to take the lessons.

Voice Coaching can be for singing or for speech. Essential whether you are a singer in a band, an actor, a singer/songwriter, a recording/session artist or if you need to train your voice in your work for business presentations or clear speech in telephone & public speaking. Everyone needs a vocal coach! Even very experienced singers can benefit from training their voice and modern professionals often come to a vocal coach to look after their voice.

We aim the training towards the singing of today, using modern techniques and tailoring the lessons towards your needs.
We offer various levels of training. Lessons can also be combined with piano or guitar whether you already play your instrument or you are starting from scratch.

We also run regular performance nights to show off what you've learned and if you're looking to use your voice for fun, we also offer vocal jam sessions from just £5!

Guitar

Guitar tuition for singers and non singers, in electric or acoustic guitar, for lead or rhythm and for all abilities.

Improve your strumming, picking and fingerpicking and develop faster chord changing without thinking about where to put your fingers too much! Speed up your rhythm and play around with new rhythms if you feel you're sticking to just one style. Take influences from other songs and see how they are written to help you with playing or writing your own music. We can also help you develop an ear for picking out notes, chords and rhythms from a recorded song so you can learn a song quickly without needing to get the music!

We can tailor the lessons to your needs, whether you're starting from scratch, you want to develop your performing ability, make quicker recordings of your playing so you get it right first time, or if you want to have a greater understanding of how chords work, how the guitar strings relate to each other or learn more about the rules of music and songwriting in general.

Violin / Cello

The Violin is getting increasingly popular in modern folk and jazz and we can train you from the basics to the stylistic conventions of different styles. You can also learn a lot of theory and develop your sight reading. Violin tuition can be for electric or acoustic violins and can lay the foundations for a good performer or session artist.

Drums

Take drum lessons to improve your rhythm, style and musicianship for performing with a band or recording as a session musician. Our drum teacher is an experienced pro trained in the Czech Republic and now works as a teacher and session drummer in all styles.

Lessons are avaailable to players of all ages and levels, from beginners upwards, in a friendly, relaxed way, but giving you the results you're looking for.

For beginners, you will be playing your first drum beat by the end of the first lesson! We will cover quite a lot of basic stuff that will give you a great sense of initial achievement, before going into more detail with regards to technique etc. There's nothing worse than paying for a whole lesson just to be told how to correctly sit on a drum stool!

Material covered will include:
• A wide range of beats and fills in many popular styles.
• Fundamentals of technique- stick grips, foot technique, rudiments.
• Transcription of the students favourite music, and analysis of how to play it.
• Theory: reading, note values, timing concepts, and even advanced concepts like metric modulation and polyrhythms!
• Double bass drum techniques and 4 limb co-ordination.

I also offer rhythm training and wokshops for all musicians looking to improve their rhythm.

Piano / Keyboard / Synthesiser

Piano for jazz, rock, blues and classical. Learn for fun or improve your technique, sight reading and understanding of structure for writing / composition. Improves your performance on stage or in the studio and can develop your writing / composition techniqes.

Keyboard lessons help you out if you don't care about the technique involved in piano lessons. Useful for producers and guitarists, singer/songwriters and non-musicians.

Synth lessons take keyboard lessons to another level and you will learn all about the hundreds of knobs you can find on analogue synths and software.

Lessons can be tailored to your needs whether you are in a band, a solo artist, or need to improve your skills as a session musician.
