Vocal Jam Workshops
To make singing accessible to everyone, we offer a range of sessions at different prices. If you want to sing for fun, one of the vocal jam groups would be best, if you want to train your voice (whether for fun or professionally), then private voice coaching is for you. Use the form below to book or enquire.
Our Vocal Jams are open to all musicians but aimed towards singers as we base the sessions around song structures and create chorus hooks to improvise on.
The sessions are accompanied by a drummer, guitarist and keyboardist. If you play another instrument such as guitar, strings or brass, you are more than welcome to join us and improvise with your instrument.The sessions are not about the training but are just to make use and have fun with our voices, make up songs on the spot and experiment with new ideas of melody and harmony as a group.
The singers who have joined us so far have found its a great chance to play with a group of other people, experiencing different rhythms, different melodys, singer's individual styles, harmonies, lyrics, structures and ideas.You find you can broaden your scope of music, get out of your own style and play with other styles too! Great to inspire songwriting, to influence your creative spark and to break into improvising... whether you've done it before or not!
In each session, we will do a few minuites of warming up but there is no emphasis on the training. We spend most of the time practically using our voices in improvisation, harmony, chord structures and singing both backing and lead lines. All styles are welcome and all levels of singers are invited to get involved! Any noises, 'yeahs' and proper words are allowed!
